President Ruto Urges Kenya Kwanza Leaders to Prioritize Delivery Over 2027 Politics

President William Ruto has called upon Kenya Kwanza leaders to shift their focus from early campaigning for the 2027 elections and instead concentrate on delivering tangible results to the people. Speaking in Naivasha, Ruto emphasized the importance of implementing the Kenya Kwanza manifesto to bring about transformation in the nation.

"We have a manifesto that, if implemented, has the potential to transform Kenya," remarked President Ruto during his address on Monday. "As leaders, our priority should be on the next generation and changing the destiny of our nation through focused and effective governance."

Ruto cautioned against the temptation for politicians to engage in premature electioneering, urging leaders to prioritize the country's development agenda over personal political ambitions.

However, despite the President's call for unity and commitment to governance, reports indicate that political activities for the 2027 polls have already commenced, with various leaders positioning themselves for key roles.

In Ukambani, leaders have rallied behind Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, urging him to traverse the country and drum up support for his presidential bid in 2027. They believe that Kalonzo is well-suited for the presidency and have pledged to vigorously campaign on his behalf.

Similarly, a group of leaders from Murang’a have thrown their weight behind Kiharu Member of Parliament, Nyoro, endorsing him as the preferred candidate for the deputy presidency alongside President Ruto in the upcoming elections.

Meanwhile, Kalonzo Musyoka has called for early consensus within the Azimio la Umoja Coalition regarding the lineup for the 2027 elections. He emphasized the importance of unity and cohesion within the coalition to enhance their chances of success in the upcoming polls.

Additionally, other political figures have thrown their hats into the ring for the 2027 presidential race. Democratic Action Party of Kenya leader Eugene Wamalwa and former Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho have both declared their intentions to vie for the presidency.

Joho, in particular, dismissed suggestions of contesting a local seat in Mombasa, affirming his commitment to national politics and his aspiration to occupy the highest office in the land. He urged Kenyans to embrace the possibility of a Mombasa-born leader ascending to the presidency and declared his readiness to compete in the 2027 presidential race.
