Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua Host 8,000 Youth in Iruri Home

In a festive gathering at his Iruri residence on Wednesday, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua played host to 8,000 enthusiastic youth, spreading a message of hope and resilience during Christmas celebrations. Gachagua took the opportunity to address the youth in the Mt Kenya region, urging them to steer clear of the Mungiki sect and the pitfalls of alcoholism.

Gachagua emphasized the government's commitment to thwarting any resurgence of the Mungiki sect, assuring the youth that constructive plans are in place for their future. "We will not allow our people to be taken back to the old dark days of terror from this group," declared the Deputy President, cautioning against any affiliations with the outlawed sect.

In an encouraging note, Gachagua highlighted the Kenya Kwanza administration's dedication to creating numerous job opportunities for the country's youth. "As a government, we urge you to be patient. We have put in place structures that will generate employment for you, both within the country and abroad. Do not be misled into joining illegal groups," he asserted, underscoring the importance of patience and faith in the government's initiatives.

Expressing gratitude for the youth's rejection of illicit brews, Gachagua commended their responsible choices, noting a tangible increase in births in the region. "I want to thank you for avoiding illicit brews. We are witnessing a considerable rise in the number of births in this region. In fact, walking around this area, one can spot young ones on the roads. Before, one could hardly spot a toddler, as many spent their nights in trenches due to drunkenness," acknowledged Gachagua, celebrating the positive impact of the youth's responsible decisions on the community's well-being.

As the Christmas festivities unfolded, Gachagua's message resonated, leaving a lasting impression on the gathered youth and fostering a sense of optimism for a brighter and more responsible future.
