Tragic Incident Unfolds in Bungoma County as 40-Year-Old Man Takes Own Life Amid House Fire

A heartbreaking incident has gripped Bungoma County, where a 40-year-old man tragically took his own life by setting his house ablaze. The devastating event occurred in Nabiswa village, situated within the Mbakalo area. The victim, identified as Japhether Maina, had been battling mental health issues, stemming from his dismissal from the armed forces.

His father, Daniel Simiyu Wabwire, expressed profound sorrow over his son's untimely demise, revealing that Japhether had left home in a state of anger over undisclosed grievances. The heart-wrenching news reached the aging father late at night when his workers informed him of the unfolding tragedy.

Rushing to the scene, Wabwire discovered his son's house engulfed in flames, with Japhether tragically locked inside. Area Chief Charles Kusucha reported that the remains of the deceased have been transported to a nearby mortuary as investigations into this harrowing incident continue.
