In a significant breakthrough, detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested the main suspect in the murder of Eric Maigo, the Acting Finance Director of Nairobi Hospital. The suspect, a teenage girl aged between 15 and 17, was apprehended in the Kibera slums following a week-long manhunt.
Eric Maigo was brutally stabbed 25 times on September 15 at his residence in Woodley Annex, Nairobi. CCTV footage captured the suspect fleeing the scene, leading to a public appeal for assistance in identifying her.
Another woman previously arrested in connection with the murder was released after investigators failed to establish evidence linking her to the crime during her appearance at Milimani Law Courts. The magistrate ruled that her continued detention was unjustified.
The teenage suspect is currently held at Kilimani Police Station as investigations into this shocking homicide continue to unfold.
